GHP (Good Hygiene Practice) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) are principles of production which were established in the USA in 1963. They concern product hygiene and preventing the production of sub-standard products which do not satisfy quality and uniformity standards. GMP means ensuring constant mid strict control at every stage of production, from the quality and nutritional value of materials to the creation of the product, to the stages of packaging and distribution. Companies which fulfill the requirements outlined by the Norms of Good Manufacturing Practice are eligible to receive a GMP certificate, which is issued by the proper governmental institution.
